Mississippi Gorge started about 20 years ago as Mill Crossing Antiques. The name was changed after the flood a few years back when we found out this is classified as "the gorge". Bill has been an antique dealer for almost 30 years. He met some of his most loyal clients at the Stittsville Flea Market where he had a booth for about 18 years. He started his own collection with insulators but is now the acknowledged Canadian stonewear expert in the area. While Bill enjoys enquiries related to antiques and bottles, please remember that we are Canadian and have little knowledge of American collectibles. Other items he is fond of include railroad lanterns, whiskies and memorabilia from Beckwith and Carleton Place. Bill is the heart and soul of Mississippi Gorge Antiques. Peggy is only part-time in the antiques business, being a full-time police dispatcher. She is a past president of tthe Bytown Bottle Seekers and is also a past president of the Violin Bottle Collector's Association, an organization of which she is a founding member. Peggy collects violin and banjo shaped bottles, marbles and is just starting with miniature jugs and pitchers. She is looking forward to the day the tea room is finally open so she can perhaps retire from dispatching.
